Tens of thousands of mourners, including Bangladesh's interim leader Mohammad Yunus, gather in Dhaka for the funeral of student leader Sharif Osman Hadi, after two days of violent protests over his killing.

Hadi, a prominent youth leader who played a key role in the 2024 uprising that forced former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from power, died in the hospital from gunshot wounds sustained in an attack last week. The police investigation is underway.

Hadi's death triggered a fresh wave of widespread protests across the country, with demonstrators calling for justice and accountability for his killing. His death comes just days after Bangladeshi authorities announced a date for the country's first elections since the 2024 uprising.
