Israel violates Gaza truce
The Israeli military has launched fresh attacks in Gaza in violation of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas. At least three Palestinians were killed in an artillery attack in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. Another city in the south, Rafah, also saw fresh strikes. The Jabalia refugee camp was under fire as well. Since the ceasefire took effect, 395 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks. And in a broader picture, the death toll from the genocidal war since October 2023 stands at over 70,600.
Rallies against desecration
Yemeni people have taken to the streets in several cities to reaffirm solidarity with Palestinians and condemn the recent desecration of the holy Quran in the US. The demonstrations were staged in Sa’ada and Raymah where people held copies of the holy Quran. They denounced a blasphemous move against the holy book that was taken by a far-right Republican Senate candidate in the US state of Florida during an anti-Islam rally. The desecration drew widespread condemnation from Muslims around the world. The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah slammed it as a hateful and provocative attack on the holiest symbols of Islam and the shared values of all Abrahamic faiths.
US strikes in Caribbean, Pacific
The US military has launched strikes on two more vessels in the Eastern Pacific, killing five people. According to the US Southern Command, three of them were killed in one vessel and two in another. Since early September, at least 104 people have lost their lives in US attacks on alleged drug trafficking boats in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. As part of the campaign, the US has increased threats against Venezuela. As tensions rise between Washington and Caracas, Russia calls for dialogue.
