Iran-Russia relations 

Iran’s foreign minister hails Moscow’s support for Tehran’s nuclear program and enrichment right. Speaking at a joint press conference in Moscow, Abbas Araghchi stressed the continuation of close defense and security cooperation between Tehran and Moscow. Araghchi said Iran and Russia share common views on international issues, warning that Washington’s concept of peace through force poses a serious threat to global stability and undermines international law. He added that Iran has not abandoned diplomacy, blaming the US for derailing talks through military aggression. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, for his part, emphasized the need to expand private-sector cooperation, highlighted Iran’s ties with the Eurasian Economic Union. He said regional consultations between the two countries remain close. Earlier, The foreign ministers of Iran and Russia signed a document outlining a cooperation program. 

US Venezuela designation

Global condemnations are mounting after the US president has threatened a naval blockade on Venezuela and moved to obstruct the country’s legal oil exports. Iran has sharply criticized the move, calling it an act of force and systematic bullying that violates international law and the UN Charter. Brazil said any US aggression toward Venezuela has no justification. Germany also warned that rising tensions could endanger peace and security across the Caribbean. Russia said the pressure campaign risks triggering unpredictable consequences for the entire Western Hemisphere. US President Donald Trump has escalated his campaign against Caracas, designating Venezuela a foreign terror organization and ordering a blockade on all sanctioned oil tankers entering or leaving the country.

Israel Gaza strikes 

The death toll mounts in Gaza as Israeli airstrikes pound residential areas, compounding a catastrophic humanitarian crisis now worsened by a severe winter storm. Israeli warplanes launched a series of violent airstrikes on eastern Gaza City, targeting al-Zaytoun and Shuja'iya neighborhoods claiming the live of one Palestinian. Nine people were also wounded in a drone attack on the central part of the city. Gaza’s Health Ministry announced the total death toll since October 7th has now reached 70 thousand 668. This comes as the besieged enclave faces a dual disaster. Rescue teams are still searching for bodies under the rubble of bombed-out homes, while assessing the devastation from a powerful winter storm. Palestinian civil defense confirms the storm killed at least seventeen people and caused the full collapse of seventeen buildings.
