Thousands of protesters marched through Zagreb and three other Croatian cities on Sunday (November 30) against what they called rising fascism and intolerance in society.
The demonstrations organised by the "United Against Fascism" initiative brought together dozens of organisations and individuals.
Protesters carried banners reading "United Against Fascism" and "Stop Fascism, Personality Cult, Communism" as they marched through the city centre.
Riot police guarded the demonstrators as they made their way to Ban Jelacic Square without incident.
The protests were sparked by recent attacks on members of the Serbian national minority during celebrations of Serbian culture day.
Local media reported the protest in Rijeka was disrupted by several dozen counter-protesters who threw firecrackers and made fascist salutes, but police prevented escalation.
