Status of Gaza ceasefire

Hamas has released a statement detailing Israel’s violations of the month-old ceasefire agreement in Gaza, urging mediators to intervene. Hamas criticized Israel for not keeping up its end of the agreement. It says 271 Palestinians have been killed, including more than 100 children, since the ceasefire began. 35 Palestinians were detained, among them several fishermen. The Hamas statement also mentions ongoing home demolitions in multiple areas and the blocking of more than 6,000 UNRWA aid trucks from entering Gaza. Meanwhile, Hamas stressed its precise commitment to the truce terms including handing over 20 living captives within 72 hours despite difficult field conditions created by the war. The group added it's also managed to recover 24 out of the 28 captives’ bodies and provided coordinates for other bodies in areas under Israeli control.

Israel’s Lebanon aggression

Israel has launched multiple attacks against Lebanon continuing to violate the ceasefire agreement with the Arab country. At least one person lost his life in an airstrike on a vehicle in Houmine, Nabatieh. Another person was killed in a drone strike targeting a civilian vehicle in Al-Baisariyah. Other drone attacks were also reported in the town of al-Hamira and Rihan Heights in southern Lebanon. In the east, two airstrikes were heard on the heights of the town of Janta in the Bekaa Valley. Meanwhile, a pickup truck was hit in Hermel with no casualties. A series of intense raids also struck the Jarmaq area and the Qatrani Heights. Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces remain heavily deployed across southern Lebanon, conducting near-daily air raids. Since the ceasefire took effect in November 2024, more than 100 Lebanese civilians have been killed in Israeli attacks.

India deadly blast

At least 10 people have been killed and 20 wounded after a car exploded near the historic Red Fort in India’s capital New Delhi. Several vehicles caught fire following the blast in a crowded area close to a metro station in the old city. Police and emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. Authorities have placed neighboring Uttar Pradesh on red alert, ordering tighter security at religious sites, sensitive districts, and border areas. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation. The Red Fort is a 17th-century, Mughal-era fort in the old city that's visited by tourists throughout the year.
