Israel ceasefire violations

Two Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza City as the Israeli regime continues to violate the ceasefire agreement in the besieged territory. Israeli military assaults are now affecting the eastern part of Gaza City, Rafah, and Khan Yunis. Palestinian sources say nearly 53% of the entire Gaza Strip is currently under Israeli fire. The violence escalated on Sunday after the Israeli military launched airstrikes against Palestinians, accusing Hamas of breaching the truce. Hamas has denied any involvement in the incident, stating it had no contact with its members in that area. The resistance group reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire deal. On Sunday, over 45 civilians were killed in airstrikes on the Nuseirat and al-Bureij refugee camps in central Gaza, as well as the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis. The ceasefire violations by Israel have claimed the lives of 97 Palestinians over the past week.

Iran’s nuclear rights

Iran has once again reiterated that the country is entitled to nuclear enrichment and other peaceful nuclear activities after UN Security Council resolution 2231 expired on Sunday. Iran’s foreign ministry called on the secretariat of the council to also consider the resolution terminated. Esmaeil Baghaei said the UN Security Council never decided on the reinstatement of anti-Iran sanctions under the resolution’s snapback mechanism, before the resolution expired. Baghaei said the UK, France and Germany abused international mechanisms for their political purposes. This, he said, has faced opposition by the majority of the world countries. China and Russia have issued a joint statement with Iran to underline the expiration of resolution 22-31. The Non-Aligned Movement also recently endorsed Iran’s position on the resolution and termination of the UN sanctions against the country.
