US-Israeli Gaza genocide

Israeli forces continue to kill more civilians in Gaza, several days after US President Donald Trump falsely claimed the regime has temporarily stopped its attacks in line with his proposed peace plan. Gaza’s medical sources say nearly 70 civilians were killed by Israeli forces on Sunday. Over a dozen fatalities were reported in Gaza City alone, which has been the focal point of Israeli forces’ strikes during past weeks. One of the airstrikes targeted a mosque in Gaza City’s al-Zeitoun neighborhood, killing a civilian and injuring several more. Two more Palestinians were killed and over two dozen others injured after a group of civilians were hit by Israel’s artillery fire in Gaza City’s Rimal neighborhood. One Palestinian also died of starvation, raising the overall toll from malnutrition to 460, nearly one-third of them children. Two aid seekers were also killed by the regime’s forces. The Israeli genocide has so far killed about 67,140 Palestinians in Gaza, leaving more than 169,580 others injured.

Rejecting Hamas disarmament

Hamas has firmly rejected media reports claiming it has agreed to surrender its weapons under US President Donald Trump's Gaza ceasefire plan, calling them “baseless.” A senior Hamas official said such reports, which first appeared on Al Hadath TV, were completely unfounded and aimed at misleading public opinion. Mahmoud Mardawi urged media outlets to uphold accuracy and credibility in their reporting, and avoid spreading rumors from false and anonymous sources. He stressed that Hamas’s official positions are announced only through its official channels. Earlier in the day, several media outlets quoted a Hamas official as saying that the group has agreed to hand over its weapons to a Palestinian-Egyptian body under international supervision.

Gaza ceasefire efforts

Iran says it supports any initiative that would guarantee an end to the ongoing ethnic cleansing and war crimes in Gaza, and realize the Palestinian nation’s right to self-determination. The Iranian Foreign Ministry was reacting to the latest Gaza ceasefire plan proposed by the US president. The ministry said the Palestinian people and the resistance are the sole parties that can make a decision on Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan. It added that Iran supports any decision by Palestinians that would guarantee an end to the Gaza genocide, withdrawal of Israeli forces, entry of humanitarian aid, and reconstruction of the war-torn territory. The ministry, however, warned about the dangerous aspects of Trump's plan, given Israel’s violation of previous agreements in line with its expansionist and racist policies. It stressed that even after the genocide stops, all governments and international bodies would be responsible for prosecuting all those behind the regime’s genocide in order to end Israel’s decades-long impunity. The ministry also voiced Iran's readiness to send humanitarian aid to Gaza.
