'Invoking snapback illegal'

Tehran has rejected the claim made by France, Germany, the UK and the US on the return of UN sanctions against Iran, affirming that such measures do not constitute legally binding obligations for Iran and other member states. In a statement, Iran’s foreign ministry said the E3 violated the provisions of the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 by initiating the snapback mechanism. The ministry said the move was unlawfully subjected to a vote under coercion from the United States, despite objections raised by Russia and China. The ministry said the E3 repeatedly violated the resolution by failing to fulfill their commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal. The statement also condemned the E3 for exacerbating the breach through their endorsement of US and Israel’s strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities. The ministry affirms that all restrictions previously imposed on Iran’s nuclear activities must be considered null and void after the expiration of Resolution 2231 on October 18.

Iran's crushing response

Iran’s top military commanders have reaffirmed the unwavering readiness of the country’s Armed Forces to confront any threat and possible military aggression. Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, characterized the Armed Forces’ strategy of active deterrence coupled with a crushing response to threats as an “effective approach”. He made the remarks in a meeting with the Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Major General Mohammad Pakpour. Mousavi further hailed the substantial advancements achieved in the modernization of Iran’s defensive capabilities. The Iranian top general also called the unity between the Army and the IRGC a cornerstone for safeguarding Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. General Pakpour also affirmed that the IRGC is fully ready to deliver a decisive response to any acts of aggression or adventurism perpetrated by adversaries against the nation.

US-Israeli Gaza genocide

The Israeli regime keeps pounding the Gaza Strip with indiscriminate air and artillery strikes, killing dozens of civilians across the besieged territory since dawn. In central Gaza, 17 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli bombing of two houses in the Nuseirat refugee camp. More casualties were reported in strikes on homes in the Nuseirat and al-Bureij camps. In Gaza City, Israeli warplanes targeted a group of civilians in the Nasr neighborhood, leaving several dead. Israeli forces also shot and killed two aid seekers, one near a humanitarian center in Rafah and another in the central Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, an infant died from malnutrition and a lack of medical treatment. The overall death toll from Israel’s genocidal war is over 65,930, with more than 167,800 others injured.
