Iran warning to E3
Iran’s Foreign Minister says Europe has shifted from playing a moderating role to actively enabling US policies in West Asia’s conflicts and crises. In an article published by UK daily The Guardian, Araghchi criticized the recent decision by Britain, France, and Germany to activate the “snapback” mechanism, calling it legally baseless. He argued that the E3 is pursuing sanctions despite failing to uphold its own commitments under the 2015 nuclear agreement. Araghchi warned that by triggering the snapback process, the E3 risks losing its diplomatic relevance on the global stage. He also condemned European leaders for openly supporting illegal military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. He emphasized that ignoring diplomatic pathways could lead to further escalation and instability across West Asia. While reaffirming Tehran’s readiness for dialogue, Araghchi cautioned that Iran’s armed forces remain prepared to demonstrate their strength.
US-Israeli Gaza genocide
The Israeli regime continues its genocidal campaign in Gaza, killing more civilians and wiping out entire families in relentless air and artillery strikes. At least 15 Palestinians, including four children, have been killed since dawn in the latest Israeli attacks. Gaza City remains a main target, with strikes hitting a residential high-rise. Another housing block and a tent housing displaced Gazans in the Sheikh Ridwan neighborhood were also targets of deadly attacks. The Israeli military also bombed a school-turned-shelter for displaced civilians west of Gaza City. The overall death toll from the regime’s genocide since October 2023 has climbed to nearly 64,370, with more than 162,360 others injured.
Anti-trump protests
The US President has threatened war on Chicago, where thousands have been marching against a federal intervention to mass deport illegal migrants. Donald Trump posted an image of a Hollywood movie showing the third-largest US city in flames. In the post, he wrote Quote Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of War, in a reference to his rebranding of the US Department of Defense. Trump added in the post that he loves the smell of deportations, another play on the 1979 movie he referenced. Democratic Governor of Illinois JB Pritzker has hit back, calling Trump a wannabe dictator and saying the people of Chicago won’t be intimidated. This comes as several thousands of protesters marched in downtown Chicago on Saturday to condemn Trump’s immigration crackdown and his plan to deploy the national guard to their democratic-led city.
