Pro-Palestine activists lined the roads of La Vuelta in Asturias on Friday, rallying against Israel's participation in the prestigious cycling event and calling for an international sports ban.
Footage shows protesters chanting and waving Palestinian flags as riders passed by, while others held signs reading 'stop genocide'. Police officers intervened to disperse demonstrators who attempted to block the race route.
Protesters urged governing bodies to impose a ban on Israel, calling for its exclusion from all major public events.
Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares stated he would 'understand and be in favour' of the Israeli Premier-Tech racing team being removed from the competition.
The demonstration took place during Stage 13 of La Vuelta, and followed similar protests during Stage 11 of the race in Bilbao earlier this week.
