Gaza humanitarian catastrophe

An international charity group, Doctors Without Borders, has slammed Israel for what it called the weaponization of food in the besieged Gaza Strip. The charity says it recorded malnutrition among one in four children aged less than five years old as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women last week. According to the MSF, such malnutrition cases have quadrupled since May 18 at its Gaza City clinic. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees issued a similar warning on Thursday. It said most children UNRWA teams are seeing are emaciated, weak and at high risk of dying. Philippe Lazzarini added that UNRWA has the equivalent of 6,000 loaded trucks of supplies ready to be sent to Gaza, but Israel is blocking the aid. Over 100 aid groups also warned of mass starvation in Gaza this week.

Pro-Palestine rallies

Hundreds of protestors held a rally outside the United Nations headquarters in New York to condemn Israel for starving the people of Gaza. The protesters banged on pots they carried with them to draw attention to images of thousands of Gazans desperately seeking food to survive. They chanted slogans and held signs calling on Israel to stop starving Gaza. Different groups of demonstrators called the situation in Gaza an ongoing genocide. They said governments such as the US should stop enabling the Israeli genocide by supporting and arming the regime. The protest came on the heels of similar action across the world, including in London, Lebanon and Morocco.

Yemen supports Palestine

Yemen has carried out fresh anti-Israel operations, this time targeting four different locations across the occupied territories. Yahya Saree also said the Yemeni army may consider further escalation options to stop the aggression, starvation, and genocide in Gaza. The Yemeni military spokesman said his country will not back down from its steadfast position in supporting the oppressed Palestinian people, regardless of the repercussions. The Yemeni armed forces say they will continue carrying out attacks on Israel and Israel-linked ships the genocide in Gaza ends and the siege on the territory is lifted.
