Iran's cybersecurity engineers successfully repelled largescale cyberattacks targeting the country's banking network and the state broadcaster on Wednesday.

In a statement, the Cybersecurity Command said the Zionist regime carried out extensive cyberattacks since Tuesday targeting the country's extensive banking network.

The attacks were successfully thwarted, however, some disruptions were caused in services at two national banks, the statement noted.

"Thanks to the efforts of our cybersecurity teams, the disruption at one of the banks was quickly resolved and efforts are currently underway to restore services at the second bank."

The cybersecurity officials said "critical countermeasures" have been taken to neutralize any further threats given the enemy's operational use of cyber infrastructure for intelligence gathering and military operations.

"These steps have dealt a significant blow to the Zionist regime's military operations," read the statement, while urging people to show patience and resilience.

The cybersecurity officials also referred to "certain foreign platforms and applications" that have acted in support of the Zionist enemy "by collecting audio, location data, even images."

"Therefore all users are strongly urged to exercise caution when using these platforms and app to prevent harm to fellow Iranians."

The two banks that were targeted are Bank Sepah and Bank Pasargad.

In a related development, a major cyberattack on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Iran's national broadcaster, was also thwarted on Wednesday.

The national broadcaster had earlier informed public through an announcement that if they experienced "disruptions" or "irrelevant messages" while watching various TV channels, it will be due to "interference by the Zionist enemy targeting satellite signals."

These cyberattacks come amid continued Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic, targeting senior military commanders, nuclear scientists as well as journalists.

In response, Iran has carried out twelve phases of Operation True Promise III so far, targeting strategic and sensitive sites in the occupied Palestinian territories with missiles and drones.
