Yemen 'political victory'

Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has reacted to the announcement by President Donald Trump that the U-S will stop its attacks on the Arab country. The movement described the announcement as a political victory and a major setback for Israel. The movement’s spokesperson also rejected Trump's claim about Yemen having agreed to stop its operations. Mohammed Abdul Salam said Yemen did not send any requests to Americans at all, but rather received requests for ceasefire through Oman. He stressed that the agreement reached through Oman was a result of Yemen’s firm position in support of Palestine, and a clear failure of the American aggression against the country. Abdul Salam said Americans reluctantly accepted Yemen's position in support of Palestine. Separately, the President of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen said the country will continue to support Gaza until the war on the Palestinian territory stops and its siege is lifted. The developments came hours after the Israeli military carried out fresh acts of aggression against Yemen, targeting Sana’a International airport.

US-Israel Gaza genocide

Israel is slaughtering more Palestinians in Gaza, as the regime’s air and artillery strikes continue to pound the war-ravaged territory indiscriminately. In one the deadliest attacks, over 30 Palestinians, including nine children, were killed in consecutive strikes on a school housing displaced people, in the al-Bureij refugee camp, in central Gaza. Some 90 others were injured in the attacks. Fatalities were also reported following an Israeli strike on a Palestinian home near Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. In a separate strike, several Palestinians, including a child, were killed in an Israeli bombing targeting tents of displaced people in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza. According to the Gaza health ministry, more than 52,600 Palestinians have been killed since the regime began its genocidal campaign in October 2023. Over 118,700 others have been injured.

Pakistan-India tensions

In a major escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, India has fired multiple missiles at Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. The new development came just days after New Delhi blamed Islamabad for a deadly attack on the Indian side of the disputed region. India, in an official statement, said “Operation Sindoor” precisely targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, from where attacks against India were planned and directed. The statement specified that at least nine locations in five regions were struck during the operation, emphasizing that no Pakistani military bases were targeted. According to the latest reports, at least nine civilians have been killed and 50 others injured in the attack. Pakistan has closed its airspace to incoming flights for 48 hours. The country's army has reportedly started answering to India’s attack via artillery fire and missiles. Pakistan claims that it has downed five Indian aircraft. The country has reportedly conducted over a dozen airstrikes in response to India's attack. Pakistan's Information Minister has vowed a "very fierce response" to India's attack.
