US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Israel’s prime minister has rejected a new ceasefire proposal by the Hamas resistance movement that included the release of regime’s captives in exchange for the release of Palestinian abductees. Benjamin Netanyahu’s office issued the statement following a war cabinet meeting in Tel Aviv. However, the statement said a delegation would leave for Qatar to discuss Israel's position on a potential agreement. It also said Netanyahu had approved plans for a military operation in Rafah, the southern Gaza city where more than a million people are sheltering. Earlier, Hamas said under its proposal, the occupying Israeli forces should leave Gaza. Hamas said its proposal also included the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes and providing them with aid. The exchange of Palestinian abductees with Israeli captives held in Gaza was included as well.

Yemen support for Gaza

The Yemeni army says it has carried out fresh attacks on US and Israeli vessels in the Indian Ocean as it expands the scope of its pro-Palestinian and retaliatory operations.

Russia presidential election

People across Russia are heading to the polls to choose a new president for the next six years. The vote is taking place across the country’s eleven time zones. More than 112-million people are eligible to cast ballots from Friday until Sunday. Incumbent president Vladimir Putin is running for a fifth term. He has three rivals. They are from the New People Party, the Liberal-Democratic Party and the Communist Party. Prior to the election, Putin called on Russians to vote, saying that people are the only source of power in his country. He said Russia is going through a difficult period and needs to stay united and confident to overcome it. The vote is also taking place in the four regions Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2022, namely Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson.
