Gaza under attack

36 days have passed since Israel launched its onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip. Schools, hospitals and civilian areas remain the prime target of the regime’s relentless attacks. In its latest strike, Israel targeted al-Buraq school in Gaza City, killing about 50 people. Israel also bombed several buildings of the largest Shifa Hospital complex, killing 14 people. Israeli snipers killed at least one person and injured 20 others in al-Quds Hospital. The Palestine Red Crescent says Israeli forces opened fire on the intensive care unit at the hospital. Israeli strikes also targeted displaced Palestinians on Salah al-Din Street. The targeted civilians were moving from the north to the south upon Israel’s evacuation warnings. In the ruined Jabalia refugee camp, Israel killed at least ten Palestinians. Hamas has slammed Israeli attacks on civilians as a disgrace in the face of humanity. It said Palestinians will not be defeated by Israel’s "fascist actions." Meanwhile, the UN Palestinian refugee agency said at least 100 of its staff members have lost their lives in Israeli strikes since early October.

'Stop Israeli genocide in Gaza'

Iran’s president says the US is the root cause of all Israeli crimes being perpetrated against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Ebrahim Raeisi said the US doesn't want the Israeli war to stop and is actually fueling the flames. He said Washington’s actions contradict its claim of being opposed to the spread of the war. Raeisi added that Israel’s onslaught against Gaza amounts to genocide and crimes against humanity. He made the remarks before departing for the Saudi capital Riyadh to attend an emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the situation in Gaza. Raeisi said participants are expected to make a firm decision and not just about laying out policies on Israel’s war. He pointed out that the OIC was formed to address and follow up the Palestinian cause. The Iranian president also called for unity among Muslim countries in the face of Israel’s atrocities against Palestinians.

Standing with Palestinians

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters block the entrances to a factory of the UK’s largest arms manufacturer, condemning its supply of arms to Israel. The demonstrators held Palestinian flags and large banners reading: "This factory arms genocide". The protesters also called on the British government to end arms sales to Israel and support an immediate ceasefire. The BAE Systems site in Rochester, Kent reportedly makes parts for Israel’s most advanced fighter jet, the F-35.
