Migrants

Migration is inherent to life on Earth. But for millions of people today, it is a tragedy in which they are forced to participate, for reasons of survival.

They flee from hunger, poverty, violence, death, and many times they perish in the attempt. They are victims of an unjust economic, social and cultural order on the planet, and their only salvation seems to be in the territories of those who have caused these evils: Western countries.

The peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America are the protagonists of this exodus. Those who manage to reach their destination are most often victims of racism, classism, discrimination and excessive exploitation.

Professor Eduardo Artés talks about this topic this week in Negro y Blanco with Magally Ávila, a Chilean-Peruvian journalist and activist for the human rights of migrants.
