Russia says Kiev's 'terror' tactics delay peace efforts, blames West
The Kiev regime’s terrorist measures have deteriorated the Ukrainian crisis and delayed a peace settlement, Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has emphasized, blaming Kiev's Western sponsors.
"The use of terror methods by the Kiev regime is a factor that aggravates the Ukrainian crisis and delays a peace settlement," she added during a pres briefing on Wednesday. "It is known that weapons and equipment supplied to Ukraine by Western sponsors are often used to carry out terrorist attacks, which makes them direct accomplices to all these crimes."
Zakharova went on to emphasized that "the term 'regime sponsoring of terrorism' or 'state sponsor of terrorism' that is actively used in the West," further pointing out that "this is exactly what they [the West] are doing; they are sponsoring the terrorist activity of the Kiev regime."
The senior diplomat also underlined that Ukraine's frequent use of terrorist tactics in recent months was the primarily outcome of their military's obvious failures in waging their widely publicized counter-offensives.
In recent days, Russia reported Ukrainian drone attacks on Moscow, Crimea as well as a border region, in attempts to strike mostly civilian targets.
Russia on Sunday said the drones that targeted Moscow slightly damaged two office buildings in the capital and briefly shut an international airport.
In a statement, the Russian defense ministry said Ukraine's "attempted terrorist attack" had been "thwarted". The defense ministry added there had been no injuries in the attack.
Russian officials have repeatedly slammed Ukraine’s drone attacks on Moscow which have been largely repelled. Russia’s foreign ministry has blamed the US and its NATO allies for providing Kiev with arms for such attacks.
