The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement says the Israeli regime, the United States and certain Western countries are seeking to sow seeds of discord within the Muslim world, spread corruption, and attack the teachings of the Holy Qur'an.

"The Zionist lobby, the United States and atheistic Westerners are seeking to fight off Qur’anic teachings, spread evils and vice, oppress nations, spark off conflicts and engineer crises," Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said in a live televised speech on Thursday evening.

Houthi was addressing an event that was held to celebrate Eid al-Ghadir in the Yemeni capital city of Sana’a, marking the day when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib as his successor in 632 CE.

He noted that the principle of guardianship (Wilaya) in Islam is of paramount significance, as it is the guarantor of stability, vitality and effectiveness of religion and protects Muslim societies against potential threats.

Referring to the efforts to undermine Quranic and Islamic teachings, Houthi said that depots "want to distance Muslim societies from their religious obligations, and instead implement their destructive, bleak and corrupt agendas."

"Despots and those under their tutelage have reached the nadir of decadence, where the United States officially supports promiscuity and moral corruption in an unprecedented manner," he added.

“Unbelievers, hypocrites, and adversaries of Islamic rule are all affiliated with despots and dependent on their tenets throughout their lives," he said, noting that they fight those who follow the "righteous path."

He said that despots are actively trying to advance their plots within Muslim nations with the help of their infidel agents.

"Hypocrites hold a hostile position towards Imam Ali as he exposed their lies and their attempts in distorting the teachings of Islam," the Ansarullah chief said, adding, "Contemporary despots seek to carry out their biggest alienation campaign against human societies and enslave them. They want to impose their evil and fiendish agendas upon human beings."

“Followers of despots want to plunge human societies into the worst level of degradation. They want to degrade human beings to the point, where they lose their values and principles and could be completely dominated,” Houthi said.

His comments came more than a week after a man burnt a copy of the Holy Qur'an outside Stockholm Central Mosque as Muslims were celebrating Eid al-Adha, one of the major feasts that is marked at the end of the Hajj pilgrimage.

The act of desecration, which was greenlighted by the Swedish authorities, was strongly condemned by Muslim and non-Muslim states who have urged Stockholm the prevent similar incidents.
