War in Ukraine

There seems to be no end in sight for the war in Ukraine as Kiev and Moscow launch new drone attacks against each other. The cities of Sevastopol and Saki in Crimea were targeted by 10 drone strikes. Russia has several air bases in the area but local officials said there was no damage. Over the past week, at least five Russian fuel facilities close to Ukraine’s borders and in Crimea have suffered similar attacks and two more drones crashed on the Kremlin roof. Meanwhile, Russia has also launched widespread drone strikes on Ukraine including on the capital Kiev. Ukrainian officials say two-thirds of the country were targeted. No casualties have been reported yet.

US mass shooting

There’s been another mass shooting in the United States. At least nine people have been killed and seven others injured by a gunman at a busy mall in Dallas, Texas. The gunman, whom authorities said they believe acted alone, was also killed by the police.

Israeli blockade

The Israeli military’s blockade of the occupied West Bank city of Ariha is now in its third week. Local media say military checkpoints have been set up by the Israeli army at all the main entrances to the ancient city, also known as Jericho. Israeli forces inspect any vehicle traffic, search Palestinian passengers and perform identity checks. The city and the adjacent Aqabat Jabr refugee camp have also seen deadly Israeli raids in recent weeks. Since the beginning of this year, at least nine Palestinians have been killed and scores of others injured and arrested by Israeli forces in the city.
