This rally is a response to more than two weeks of violent protests in Iran over the death of Mahsa Amini, a young Iranian woman who collapsed at a police station and later died at a hospital. Here, demonstrators denounced street violence, saying there are peaceful ways to protest.

The chaos began in mid-September, with protesters calling on the police to explain Mahsa's death. Over the past days, students in universities and schools have also joined the protests. On Tuesday, Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei shared his sympathies over the death of Mahsa Amini, while condemning the unrest.

The West, and on top of it the US, have made supportive comments on the protests in Iran, something which these people call tongue-in-cheek remarks made to fuel the turmoil in the country.

Twenty-two-year old Mahsa was an Iranian Kurd from the city of Saqqez in Kordestan Province. On September 13, she was on a trip to Tehran with her family, when she was taken by the police over her non-compliance with the Islamic dress code. CCTV footage released by police show that she passed out at the police station for what was later revealed to be a heart attack. Three days later, she died in hospital.

These people believe protesters are playing into the hands of Iran's enemies. They demand an end to the chaos and violence.
