WHO: 75% of Yemen's children chronically malnourished

The world's worst humanitarian crisis continues to deteriorate with unprecedented levels of needs. In a tweet, the world health organization said Seventy-five percent of Yemen's children suffer from acute malnutrition, adding that 16.2 million Yemenis are food insecure.
Earlier, The United Nations children’s agency said 11 million children need humanitarian assistance, including 400 thousand suffering from acute malnutrition. Yemeni health officials say the real number exceeds one million and the continuing food crisis is deteriorating the situation.
Millions of Yemenis have been suffering from the ongoing Saudi war and siege since the beginning of 20-15. However, the international community including the UN has not taken any action to put an end to the humanitarian crisis in the war-torn country.
Yemenis say the United Nations’ continued silence toward their suffering is shameful and contradicts the principles on which the world body was established. They believe that thousands of Yemeni children will continue to pay the heaviest price for the brutal Saudi war on the country.
