Labour conference: Left-wing Jews face purges over Palestine support

As UK Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer declares victory over alleged anti-Semitism in the party, left-wing Jewish members are complaining of a new wave of purges taking place to remove Jews from the party who defend Palestine and stand with exiled former leader Jeremy Corbyn.
The dispute has opened up a new dispute over anti-Semitism within the already divided opposition party only this time the finger points at Starmer.
As this year's annual UK Labour Party conference comes to an end in Brighton, the row over anti-Semitism has continued to divide the party.
The matter came to ahead when co-founder of the left wing Jewish Voice for Labour group was kicked out of the conference over her criticism of the weaponization of anti-Semitism to expel Palestine solidarity.
This proud and outspoken Jewish group have a long history of standing up for Palestine and condemning Israel. Under Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership the group enjoyed freedom to operate.
But now, under Starmer, the group's members have complained of discrimination against them, yet these have been ignored.
At conference, Starmer claimed that the party had ended its “dark days” on anti-semitism while also welcoming back a pro-Israel MP who quit under Corbyn’s rein.
Despite the trouble inside conference, fringe events have been held with large turnouts. Proving that Starmer’s opposition is far from defeated.
Keir Starmer may have thought that after conducting these purges his opposition to his leadership might have died down but that is far from the case as we have seen from our time here on the fringes.
