Iran marks 43rd anniversary of 'Black Friday' massacre

September 8,1978 marks the day that the US-backed Pahlavi regime suppressed thousands of protesters, demanding an end to the monarchy's rule. 

At least 100 protesters were shot dead by the regime's troops.
