Iran’s Defense Ministry has delivered new unmanned aerial vehicles to the Armed Forces.

Equipped with significant features, the unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been manufactured based on domestic capacity of the defense industries, the country's universities and knowledge-based companies.

The drones can fly up to 40,000-45,000 feet and operate within a radius of 1,500 kilometers. The drones could act as reconnaissance aircraft to monitor enemy movements along the borders.

Experts say Iran is among the top five countries in the world in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles. The Islamic Republic maintains that its military might poses no threat to other countries, stating that its defense doctrine is merely based on deterrence.

In the past couple of years, Iranian specialists through reverse engineering and with reliance on modern science have reached self-sufficiency in producing military equipment needed by the Armed Forces for defensive purposes.
