Firefighters captured the moment a rare fire tornado shot into the sky near the town of Swadlincote in Derbyshire on Wednesday.
A fire brigade captured the unique video while extinguishing a blaze at a nearby plastic pallet factory.
The natural phenomenon, also known as a 'fire whirl', occurs when turbulent conditions draw hot air towards cooler descending air. The merging bodies create a spinning vortex.
Despite extensive damage and dense black smoke, no one was killed or injured in the event.
