The Russian national football team held an open training session in Novogorsk, Moscow Region, on Friday, two days ahead of the Round of 16 clash with Spain.
Forward Artyom Dzyuba said after the training that the game against Spain is a "match of our lives."
For Russia to win, he added, "We simply must die on the field."
"All our thoughts are about how to be dignified and demonstrate the result which might shock everyone."
Midfielder Alexander Erokhin said that Russia will be tactically prepared and will face Spain "without any fear."
Russia and Spain take on at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on July 1.
