S Korea envoy carried on shoulders by Mexicans after Germany WC exit

Jubilant Mexico football fans celebrated South Korea's 2-0 win over Germany, in front of the South Korean Embassy in Mexico City on Wednesday, as this guaranteed the national team a place in the knock-out phase of the World Cup.

South Korean Ambassador Sang-Il Kim was even raised by the crowd as they were chanting "Korea, sister, now you are Mexican".

Mexico lost 3-0 against Sweden, finishing second in the group ahead of South Korea, who inflicted a shock 2-0 defeat on Germany, who occupied the last place.
