Australia Zoo forced to shut after wild summer storms
Australia Zoo was forced to close on Sunday, after destructive wild weather brought down trees and powerlines in Queensland.
Zoo staff were left cleaning up major damage within the zoo after several powerful storms swept through south east Queensland on Saturday evening.
According to power company Energex, more than 130,000 lightning strikes were recorded in the area.
