China launches first unmanned spacecraft
China has also finally launched its first unmanned cargo spacecraft after lengthy preparations.
Tianzhou-1 blasted off atop a latest-generation Long March 7 rocket from a launch platform on the island province of Hainan.
The rocket cleared the atmosphere in the matter of minutes to make the live-broadcasted mission a success.
Tianzhou-1 is set to dock with China’s second space lab called Tiangong-2. The successful project is a crucial step toward China's goal of establishing its own space station around 2022.
