US Senate purusing Israel interests in nuclear talks: Analyst

Press TV has conducted an Interview with Rick Staggenborg, an Oregon-based political commentator, to discuss how Israel is meddling with the ongoing talks between Iran and six world powers.

Staggenborg believes that a group of 47 Republican senators who, earlier this month, wrote a letter to Iranian leaders warning that any nuclear agreement can easily be revoked once President Barack Obama leaves the office, are in fact backing the Israeli interests in the matter.

The political commentator went on to say that the Senate chooses to remain silent when the administration is weighing a military invasion, but now that it wants to strike a deal in order to prevent possibly bad consequences, they have suddenly decided to intervene and are flexing their muscles.

He also said that although President Obama seems to be serious in pursuing an agreement while some of US's European allies like France are less enthusiastic in this regard.
