Senate Iran sanctions bill, unwise and untimely: Analyst

Press TV has conducted an interview with Kaveh Afrasiabi, author and political scientist from Boston, to discuss the approval of a controversial bill by the US Senate Banking Committee which would toughen sanctions against Iran if the ongoing nuclear negotiations between the Islamic Republic and the P5+1 group of countries collapse.

Afrasiabi believes if this bill is forwarded, then it basically torpedoes any chance of nuclear talks with Iran, adding that it will put the United States at odds with its European partners.

He also maintains this bill is very “unwise and untimely” and it is really intended to kill negotiations and diplomacy.
