Yemen is rapidly heading toward another major escalation. As Saudi Arabia reportedly prepares for a possible large-scale offensive aimed at pushing Ansarullah away from the Red Sea coast and Bab al-Mandab, Yemeni forces are making significant advances across Taiz Governorate, including toward the strategic town of At Turbah. Meanwhile, Sana’a is warning Riyadh that any attack on the Yemeni capital would trigger what it calls a “capital for capital” response.
Saudi airstrikes are already hitting parts of Yemen, while attacks and missile launches are reaching Saudi territory.
So is Riyadh preparing to gamble on a military solution in Yemen, and could that gamble turn Taiz and Bab al-Mandab into a much wider regional flashpoint?
That’s what we’ll be discussing with our guests in this edition of the program.
