Israeli forces seize Hungarian flag at protest over resemblance to Palestinian flag
Israeli forces have confiscated a Hungarian flag from a protester during a demonstration in Israeli-occupied territories, claiming it resembled the Palestinian flag and "could provoke tensions."
The Hebrew news outlet Haaretz reported that the incident took place on Saturday at an anti-regime protest in "Karkur Junction."
Police officers approached a man waving the Hungarian flag and demanded that he hand it over.
Although the flag of Hungary features red, white, and green stripes arranged horizontally and does not include black, officers claimed that Israelis might confuse it with the Palestinian flag.
The protester told Haaretz that he tried to explain the difference, but Israeli officers insisted on confiscating the flag.
Thousands took to the streets of Tel Aviv in anti-regime protests, demanding Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's accountability and the formation of an official commission of inquiry into his failures in multiple wars.

“You might understand that, but others do not,” he quoted one officer as saying. He offered to return the flag to his car, but the officer refused and took it, and returned it only after the protest ended.
Displaying the Palestinian flag is not illegal in the occupied territories; however, Israeli forces carry out raids to remove Palestine's flag across the occupied lands.
The report comes days after another incident in the illegal settlement of Modiin, where police detained a settler for wearing a kippah that displayed both Palestinian and Israeli flags.
Officers later cut the head covering to remove the Palestinian flag.
