Iran warns US
Iran has warned the United States it would suffer heavy casualties in case it initiates a war. The warning was made by Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces, during a meeting in Tehran with Armenia’s Defense Minister Suren Papikyan. Mousavi said Iran has never started a war but would respond decisively to any aggression, adding that US actions have prompted a shift in Iran’s approach. Criticizing the presence of extra-regional powers as a source of instability, the General said the world is moving beyond a unipolar order that Washington is unwilling to accept. During the talks, both sides highlighted their long-standing neighborly ties and stressed regional security. During his visit, Papikyan also met with Iran’s defense minister, vowing that Armenia will never be a source of threat for its neighbors underscoring that Iran’s stability contributes to stability across the region.
'EU unable to find solution to war'
The Russian President says the desperation of Ukraine and its European allies to inflict pain on Russia is clouding their ability to make rational judgment in finding a lasting resolution to the conflict. Speaking on the fourth anniversary of the war, Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of trying to sabotage the peace process by terrorist acts on Russian energy pipelines. The Russian foreign ministry says the crisis cannot be resolved without addressing its root cause which is NATO’s expansion toward Russian borders. Meanwhile Ukraine’s president has praised the Ukrainian army, the EU, NATO and the US for their support. The Leaders of the G7 global powers have also released a statement reaffirming their unwavering support for Ukraine. They also vowed to continue to back the US initiative for a diplomatic resolution to the four-year war amid reports that fatalities are now well into hundreds of thousands on both sides.
Trump criticized at home'
Most Americans view their President as growing erratic with age. That according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll that ran for six days and found 61-percent of respondents describing Trump so. The figure includes a significant slice of Republicans. A CNN poll also shows support plummeting further, with only 36-percent approving of Trump's job performance while 68-percent say Trump is not focused on the country's most pressing problems. This amid Trump's aggressive policy push on tariffs and immigration and following Supreme Court setbacks.
