Israeli forces have killed a Palestinian in Gaza, breaching the recent ceasefire between the regime and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas.

A Palestinian man was shot dead on Sunday evening in the Ma‘an area, east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, marking another violation of the ceasefire.

Since Israel announced that it would accept the US-proposed ceasefire with Hamas, it has violated the agreement on a daily basis.

One Palestinian was killed by gunfire from Israeli drones in the town of al-Qarara on Saturday, north of Khan Yunis.

Medical officials reported that another 19 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Friday, while one person succumbed to earlier injuries. Another Palestinian was killed in Sheikh Radwan, while two more died in strikes near Khan Yunis.

Since the implementation of the ceasefire, the bodies of at least 300 Palestinians, including 124 in the past 24 hours, have been recovered from the rubble and transferred to Gaza hospitals.

Additionally, 33 injured individuals have also been brought to medical facilities across the Gaza Strip during the past day.

Massive destruction, including the targeting of homes and key infrastructure, has displaced two million Gaza residents, who are gradually returning to what remains of their homes across the devastated territory.

Despite the ceasefire, Israel has not lifted the siege on Gaza, allowing only a handful of aid trucks to enter the territory.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has urged Israel to lift the ongoing blockade and open all crossings into Gaza, as 6,000 aid trucks are prepared to enter within hours.

Last Thursday, the Israeli regime formally approved a ceasefire agreement proposed by US President Donald Trump, marking the beginning of the first phase of a broader peace plan.

The agreement calls for an end to hostilities, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the facilitation of humanitarian aid, and an exchange of captives and abductees.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced that the first seven Israeli captives were handed over in the Gaza Strip on Monday morning.

Nearly 2,000 Palestinian abductees, many taken during the Israeli genocide, are also set to be freed following the release of the Israeli captives under the agreement.

The Israeli regime’s genocidal assault on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has left at least 67,806 Palestinians dead and 170,066 others wounded, most of them women and children.

Gaza Medical sources warn that the toll is likely higher, as many victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings or lie in the streets, where ambulance and civil defense crews are still unable to reach them due to destroyed infrastructure and ongoing insecurity.
