South Africa's strong pro-Palestinian stance

The genocidal war waged by the Israeli apartheid regime against the Palestinian people of Gaza continues to evoke anger and indignation around the world.

Despite pressure from Western imperialist powers that support Israel's war crimes, many governments have come forward to openly support Palestinians in this crisis.

One such government is the South African government. It has taken tangible action in support of Palestine by recalling its diplomats from Tel Aviv in protest to Israel's genocidal war on Gaza.

South Africa also issued a formal reprimand to the Israeli ambassador for what was termed as his unfortunate conduct relating to the unfolding, tragic war on Gaza.

Additionally, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa told reporters during a recent visit to Qatar that his country is calling for an International Criminal Court investigation into Israel's genocide on Palestinians in Gaza.

Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor has called for a boycott of goods from Israel due to the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

These moves are in tandem with South African people who have participated in dozens of demonstrations in solidarity with Palestinians.

In Africa, South Africa is seen as a leader on many fronts. So, will other African countries follow in the footsteps of South Africa and take action against the Israeli apartheid regime?
