Vienna Intl. Book Fair comes back to life; Iran stall cynosure of eyes

The Vienna International Book Fair, the largest book exhibition in Austria, came back to life this year after being cancelled last year in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
With only vaccinated people or those who have recovered from the disease allowed into the exhibition hall, visitors were allowed to freely without the ubiquitous face masks.
More than 300 publishers from over 30 countries used the opportunity to showcase their new releases. One of them was the Islamic Republic of Iran.
For many visitors, visiting the Iran stand at the fair was a trip down the memory lane, bringing back a flood of memories.
The book fair, which ended on Sunday, came as part of the week-long national Reading Festival involving hundreds of authors in dozens of venues.
Although many feared the book industry would not be able to weather the storm of the pandemic, hopes have actually risen for the industry since people started reading more during the lockdown, some even discovering for the first time the unique kind of pleasure reading provides.
