The re-arrest of the last two remaining of Palestinian inmates who had escaped from an Israeli jail has sparked public outrage among the Palestinians.

Palestinians have come together in the Gaza Strip to voice their anger at Israel’s growing pressure on the Palestinian inmates. Reports say the two men were caught alive in Jenin, their hometown in the West Bank, after they were surrounded by Israeli army.

Two weeks ago, six Palestinian inmates escaped through a dug hole in the floor of their shared cell, exposing deep security flaws of Israeli system. Palestinians held several rallies calling for ending the Israeli violation of prisoners’ rights.

Thousands of Palestinian are held in Israeli jail with hundreds of them under the practice of administrative detention.

Palestinians say the re-arrest of the last two Palestinian inmates who broke out of Gilboa prison can’t cover up the fragility of the Israeli security system. Palestinians see this escape as a remarkable achievement in the history of the Palestinian cause, demanding the international community to stop Israel’s torture against detainees
