Yemen's Ansarullah fighters and the allied army units have inflicted fresh casualties on Saudi military forces as they continue with their retaliatory attacks south of the kingdom.
In a statement, Riyadh confirmed on Monday that at least five Saudi soldiers had been killed after the allied forces launched an attack on their positions in the southern province of Najran in Saudi Arabia.
Yemeni forces also inflicted heavy casualties on Saudi-led foreign troops and militants loyal to the former regime in central Yemen.
Over a dozen armored vehicles were also reportedly destroyed in the attack which targeted a gathering of Saudi forces in Ma'rib.
The allied forces had surrounded scores of foreign troops inside a valley in Ma’rib, according to reports.
Earlier, Yemen’s Ansarullah fighters and allied army units took control of a Saudi military base, identified as Fardhah al-Jabery Camp, in the kingdom’s south-western region of Jizan. A rocket attack also left several Saudi soldiers dead in Najran region.
Saudi Arabia has been engaged in relentless bombardment of Yemen. On Monday, at least a dozen Yemenis were killed in a new round of Saudi airstrikes on the northwestern Sa’ada Province.

Saudi Arabia began its aggression against Yemen on March 26 – without a UN mandate – in a bid to undermine the Ansarullah movement and restore power to the fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.
The conflict has so far left more than 5,200 people dead and thousands of others wounded, according to Yemeni health sources.
