Press TV: 15 Years On

Press TV, Iran’s first English language news network is marking its 15th anniversary. The news network was launched in 2007 with the goal of providing an alternative voice and extensive coverage of stories that mostly go overlooked or underreported be Western mainstream media outlets.

By following out maxims of “news anew” and being the “voice of the voiceless” Press TV has been striving to reach out to English language audiences around the globe, including those in Europe, the US and Africa harboring its alternative perspective on world events. Charlotte Kates, international coordinator of Samidoun Palestine Prisoner Solidarity Network from Vancouver and Scott Bennett, former US army psychological warfare officer from San Francisco join Spotlight to talk about Press TV’s importance on its 15th anniversary.
