Moeen Amini is a researcher, translator and journalist with an academic background in Political Science, Sociology and Armed Conflict and Peace Studies. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology and an M.A. in Armed Conflict and Peace Studies, both from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

Fluent in Farsi, English, and Swahili, Amini has extensive professional experience in translation, journalism, editorial work and political affairs. He began working with the Cultural Centre of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kenya in 2011, contributing to translation and cultural activities and joined the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kenya in 2015, where he worked on translation, news and political affairs.

In January 2025, he joined the Press TV website as a journalist and editor, before moving into field reporting in September 2025.

His research interests include violent extremism, colonialism, political and social developments and peace and conflict. His academic and professional work has focused particularly on Kenya and East Africa, giving him extensive regional knowledge and experience in political, social and security-related research and analysis.
