The captivity of water

As Turkish authorities submerge a 10,000-year-old civilization beneath the waters of the Ilisu Dam, across the border in the Iraqi city of Mosul, local authorities say they have no option but to release substantial amounts of water stored behind the dam to prevent crops from withering in December.
