Flash floods in India's northeastern state of Assam have killed at least 25 people and displaced over 650,000 from their homes in the past 10 days, officials said on Tuesday.

Around two million have been stranded in northeast Bangladesh after rivers burst their banks and caused the worst flash floods in the country in past two decades, officials said.

India's Assam State is planning to deploy 4,000 commandos in order to guard its border with the rival state of Mizoram, following deadly clashes between the neighboring states, which have led to the death of six police officers.
