The US military has lost about a quarter of its MQ-9 Reaper drone fleet, with dozens destroyed by Iranian air defense systems during the US-Israeli aggression, according to a report.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced that its aerospace force shot down an American MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Strait of Hormuz using a “modern and advanced” air defense system.

Since the Ramadan War began, Iran and its allies in the region have destroyed more than 40 US MQ-9 Reaper drones – over 90 total across all theaters – reducing the fleet to 35-50 percent below the Pentagon's minimum operational threshold and turning Iranian skies into the famed combat drone’s graveyard.

The IRGC says its overnight retaliatory missile and drone strikes targeted the King Faisal and Prince Hassan air bases in Jordan as part of Operation Nasr-2.

The downing comes as Iran's air defense forces have compiled an impressive record of aerial victories during the US-Israeli war of aggression.

The Army's Air Defense Force, operating under the unified national air defense network, shot down an MQ-9 Reaper drone in the western region of the country on Sunday.
