The Iranian authority controlling the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf announces the closure of the strategic waterway following recent illegal US military aggression.

The Persian Gulf Strait Authority issues a compulsory online clearance system for all vessels intending to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has introduced a 60-day free transit framework for Strait of Hormuz shipping, requiring applications via PGSA.ir and compliance with designated routes, safety rules, and future technical procedures.

The majority of these requests came from outbound ships, which accounted for 77 percent of the total applications. Inbound ships made up the remaining 23 percent.

Washington has been unable to break Tehran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, despite a heavy air campaign, a naval blockade, special forces operations, and a failed “humanitarian” escort mission.
