US President Joe Biden’s administration has announced plans to ease some sanctions imposed on Cuba by the former administration, including family remittances and travel, but the move falls short of ending the maximum pressure campaign.

The US government on Thursday announced restrictions on visa issuance for eight Cuban government officials, accusing them of repressing protests that rocked the Caribbean country in July 2021.

Cuba's Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez says the US government lacks the moral authority to promote initiatives in favor of peace, human dignity and development in the world.
