Iran’s Judiciary confirms the execution of a Mossad spy for leaking information about an assassinated nuclear scientist to the Israeli spy agency.

Veteran Iranian nuclear scientist and former lawmaker Dr. Fereydoun Abbasi, long active in the defense and energy sectors of the country, was assassinated in Friday’s Israeli strikes.

Iran’s ambassador to the UN has protested to the UN chief and the Security Council against the threatening statements of Israeli officials.

A senior Iranian human rights official says the Islamic Republic will soon announce the final verdict in the case of the assassinations of several senior nuclear scientists, which are believed to be tied to the Israeli regime.

Iran's defense ministry said the top scientist was seriously wounded after attackers targeted his car and exchanged fire with his bodyguards in Absard, to the east of capital Tehran. Fakhrizadeh later died from his injuries in hospital.

The assassination of the Iranian top nuclear scientist has drawn condemnation from Iranians from all walks of life.

Iran rejects any inspection of its military sites as well as interviews with Iranian nuclear scientists.
