The Sijil Center, an organization monitoring Israeli activities in Syria, recorded 395 violations by Israeli soldiers in October, up 41.1 percent from 280 in September and the highest monthly total in 2026.

Israeli forces have stormed into several homes and a school in Syria’s southern Quneitra province, setting up checkpoints there in yet another breach of the Arab country’s sovereignty.

The television news channel al-Ikhbariyah Syria reported that the occupation troops forced open the school gate during Saturday’s incursion into the village of al-Samadaniyah al-Gharbiyah.

The report did not say whether the raid, involving 14 military vehicles, resulted in any casualties or arbitrary arrests.

Israeli forces also set up a temporary checkpoint in northern Quneitra and a unit in Wadi al-Raqad in western Dara’a province, the report added.

Israeli engineering units further continued building fortifications near the town of Saida al-Hanout in southern Quneitra.

The Sijil Center, an organization monitoring Israeli activities in Syria, recorded 395 violations by Israeli soldiers in October, up 41.1 percent from 280 in September and the highest monthly total in 2026.

Last month, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk urged Israeli authorities to “cease actions that harass or intimidate civilians in Syrian villages, including raids, restrictions on freedom of movement, detention and destruction of crops.”

“No person may be detained absent proper basis in international law, and the important procedural guarantees under applicable international human rights and humanitarian law that protect any individual taken into custody must be fully respected," he said.

Areas in southern Syria have witnessed repeated Israeli strikes and ground incursions following the collapse of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government in December 2024.

Israel has also set up numerous checkpoints in Syria and abducted its citizens. The usurping entity has further expanded control over the occupied Golan Heights, taking over a demilitarized buffer zone in violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

The UN and various Arab countries have censured Israel for exploiting the disorder in Syria to acquire land.

Despite promises by Syria’s ruling Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) regime to collaborate with Tel Aviv, Israel has consistently refused to end its illegal occupation of Syrian territory and repeated attacks.

The two sides have been involved in intermittent discussions to secure a “safety pact,” yet no agreement or significant progress has been reported.
