The Yemeni armed forces said they carried out seven military operations using ballistic missiles and drones against targets inside Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, Aramco facilities in Yanbu, and the Rabigh oil refinery.
In a statement issued Saturday, military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said the operations were conducted "in response to the brutal Saudi aggression" against Yemen, which he said had launched 100 airstrikes in the past 24 hours targeting civilian infrastructure in the capital, Sana'a, and other provinces, leaving dozens of martyrs and wounded.
The statement put the total number of airstrikes and missile attacks on Yemen since the beginning of the escalation at 3,123.
According to the statement, the first operation targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh in two phases. The second targeted Aramco in Yanbu, and the third targeted the Rabigh oil refinery.
The fourth operation targeted crude oil pumping stations and the east-to-west crude oil pipeline. The fifth targeted King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. The sixth targeted Najran Airport, and the seventh targeted Khamis Mushait Air Base, both described as direct and precise strikes.
The Yemeni armed forces said their operations continue deep into Saudi territory, imposing the equation of "a blockade for a blockade" and "an escalation for an escalation," and targeting Saudi troop build-ups until the aggression stops and the siege on Yemen is lifted.
Earlier, Saree said the Yemeni forces had targeted Saudi troop concentrations at a military camp and a naval base in the southern port city of Aden, following reports of explosions in the area.
He said the targets were the Al-Nasr military camp and the naval base in Aden.
"Our armed forces targeted Saudi enemy concentrations at the so-called Al-Nasr camp and the naval base in Aden," he said.
Saree added that the two sites were being used to mobilize and equip forces under the supervision of Saudi officers, led by Saudi Brigadier General Badr Salah Al-Harbi.
He also noted that the preparations were aimed at launching attacks against Yemen and its armed forces.
Saree also urged misled Yemenis not to heed Saudi Arabia’s calls, warning that Riyadh is using money to entice them into fighting their fellow Yemenis and risking their lives to advance Saudi Arabia’s ambitions in Yemen.
The latest development comes as Saudi Arabia has sharply escalated its aggression in recent weeks, with Yemeni officials reporting hundreds of airstrikes across the country.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have responded with major operations along the Red Sea coast, driving Saudi-backed forces from strategic positions.
They have also seized strategic areas and islands around Bab al-Mandeb, significantly strengthening their position at one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints.
