Israeli occupation demolishes sports stadium, bulldozes land, uproots olive trees in al-Khalil

Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished a sports stadium in al-Arroub camp north of al-Khalil, bulldozed surrounding land, and uprooted olive trees.

Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished a sports stadium in al-Arroub camp north of al-Khalil, bulldozed surrounding land, and uprooted olive trees belonging to citizens in the area.

The occupation forces deliberately demolished the stadium's walls and gate, and vandalized the adjacent lands, before declaring them "state land," in a step that targeted a sports facility established to serve as a recreational space for the camp's residents and youth.

The deputy head of the popular committee in al-Arroub camp, Amjad al-Tayti, said that these practices fall within the context of the occupation's war on stone, tree, and the Palestinian human being, stressing that this behavior has been inherent to the occupation since it occupied Palestine.

Al-Tayti explained that the sports stadium project was completed with funding from an international institution, with the aim of providing a sports and recreational space for the camp's youth, noting that it cost enormous sums before the occupation's bulldozers targeted it with demolition and vandalism.
